In My Mailbox [16] & What Am I Reading?

No books this week, still sticking to my book ban!

Just finished
and now on
AND THEN AFTER THAT...

ohhh, y'betcha! It'll be 1 week on Tuesday. I know you all are just PUMPED.

Okay everyone please help me out: I just finished The Replacement, but the book isn't scheduled to be released until September 21, which is over a month away. Should I go ahead and post a review this week or wait until closer to the release date?

Here's what some of you said about Gone:

"Gone is good, not AMAZING but good, there's A LOT of gore though, let me warn you. and there's twice as much gore in Hunger."
- The Critic

"A fast-paced thriller with intriguing characters and some kick ass fight sequences."
- Cara, Chasing Words

"A modern take on Lord of the Flies. At turns it creeped me out, made me tense and even made me angry but definitely kept me intrigued."
- Lesa, Cozy Book Nook

  1. Of course I'm going to say that you should post the review of The Replacement this week instead of later -- but that's mostly due to the fact that I really want an honest opinion about what to expect from this book. I trust that would come from you, definitely. :) (Yes, selfish reason, I guess. :P)

And YAY for Mockingjay. Can't wait to read it!!

(By the way, I personally loved GONE -- though I have to say the sequels are even better than the first. If you can get past the sometimes disjointed writing, then you should be able to enjoy them.)

  6. It's good that you are staying on your book ban...I could never do that! But thanks for swinging by my blog :) I hadn't realized that Halo was so long either until I received it...oh well. I've heard good things about it! I too cannot wait to get Mockingjay! I'm planning on staying up all night to finish it!

  7. I can't wait to read your review of The Replacement whenever you decide to post it. Sometimes it is good to generate a little early buzz and since it is mid-August you could post it now if you wanted.

I am looking forward to reading Mockingjay. I was planning to reread The Hunger Games and Catching Fire but it hasn't happened. I remember when Deathly Hallows came out and I spent the months before it rereading the other books in the series. I was still finishing up Half Blood Prince when DH was released and forced myself to complete that book first. Happy memories :)
