Up and Running Again!!
Okay, so there are many good things about living on campus - close to classes, safety's generally better, relatively decent cable, etc... BUT every once in a while, it sucks royal Hippogriff to live on campus - like when the internet is down!!
So yes, I was pretty much living in the Prairie Days last night (well, except for my handy, trusty iPhone, but I'm the world's worst texter so that didnt help me much. Seriously, my grandparents text faster than me).
I apologize for the lack of updates, then. My little blog may be in its toddler stages, but I do pride myself in being a consistent updater :)
I missed Cover Wars on Wednesday and was going to post it yesterday, but right now I don't know when I'll have an opening to insert it in. I'll do my Friday Finds shortly - my scurvy class requires first attention, though!

Old Reads, (Fairly) New Reviews, Part III
Ehh...it was okay. As a former ballerina, I absolutely loved how ballet was incorporated into the story; it wasnt just used as a way to describe the characters, but it had its own place in the story.Teaser Tuesday!

**Note: I personally will probably fudge on the numbers and do more than just 2 sentences...!
So here is my teaser from Book 5 of the Wardstone Chronicles - The Spook's Mistake
"I stood up, clutching my staff. After a few moments I knew for sure that I was watching the approach of a water witch. It was something about the way she walked, a strange rolling of the body, perhaps caused by the talons and webbed toes..."

Old Reads, (Fairly) New Reviews, II
Now yes, I there's something about YA (particularly Intermediate/Middle Grade YA) that I find fascinating. Every once in awhile, however, I venture out into the world of Bona Fide Grown Up Fiction...see what all the bona fide adults are reading!
Rating: 3.5/5. That may not seem very high, but for what it is, it was enjoyable.
Old Reads, (Fairly) New Reviews
But the books that I read before getting on GR are in a bit of a weird situation...because they have no reviews. Oh dear. And the books I read after GR but before my blog are in a similar predicament. Oh dear. So this will be my beginning effort at reorganizing.
The first review I think I should post is from a relatively popular title... maybe you all have heard of it - some of you might have even read it :)
It occurred to me that I've never written a review of Twilight. But then I stumbled on this, and it's pretty much word-for-word exactly how I feel about the book...pretty much, at least. :D
So here's a review of Twilight from someone who knows a thing or two about writing. Guess who it is:
Twilight, Stephenie Meyer. I'm a sucker for a good vampire story, so I wanted to see what all the buzz was about. The story was a page-turner: regular teenage girl falls in love with a guy who turns out to be a vampire. I thought the writing needed some editing. If the girl's heart skipped a beat one more time or the vampire smiled his "perfect crooked smile" I was going to fling the book across the room. But hey, I kept reading to see what would happen next. I'm sure the book will be popular. It would make a good movie.
- 2005 entry from his blog. That's right, folks. This review was written by the one, the only:

In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme where I post the books that I either bought or ordered from the previous week. This was started by The Story Siren.
This week I bought all my books! I've been trying really hard to keep away from Amazon and the ever-more notorious Amazon UK!
- Shadows on the Stars (Great Tree of Avalon, #2)
- The Eternal Flame (Great Tree of Avalon, #3)
- The Wizard Heir (Heir Trilogy, #2)
- The Sugar Queen

Quote of the Week!
Here's my Quote of the Week :D
This quote seemed what I needed to hear and remember as I get ready for yet another week of school...boo... so I just wanted to share it with everyone.
I forgot to post this last week, but if you want to use any of my quote-posters on your sites, that would be just peachy! Just link the thing back to me 8D. I design the posters myself and really try to get pictures that match the quote - hmmm so if there's ever a picture/quote combo that seems a little on the random side, you'll know where the madness comes from!
Have a good week everybody!
